Hello! I am a co-owner of 5-6-7-8 Dancenter and I teach Young Expression, Variety and Sizzlin' Senior classes. I also coach the Starlett Dance Team.
I began dancing at age 5 studying Tap, Jazz and Ballet at Sara Gay’s School of Dance. I loved every type of dance and it was the highlight of my life. Unfortunately, Sara Gay closed her studio and moved away after a few years and there were no other studios in our area. I studied dance briefly in college at Central Missouri State University but did not return to it full time until 1998 when I began taking tap classes at Dancenter. After 4 years of classes, I was hired to teach Variety and Young Expression classes. I worked for 2 of the previous owners before purchasing the studio with my co-owner and friend, Pauline Kuntz. This is my 16th year of teaching and I truly love it!
I have been active in local theater productions in the last 18 years with Little Theater, Capitol City Productions and Scene One. I am also a past member of the Jefferson City Cantorum and sang with a small jazz ensemble called TMI for several years. My husband Gary and I have 1 daughter, 2 sons and 5 granddaughters. You may have seen me in the Little Dixie commercials on television with my granddaughters.
